Cox Peninsula awarded National Award for Excellence-Media Release:17/03/2008 LGANT President, Alderman Kerry Moir today joined the Federal Minister for Local Government the Hon. Anthony Albanese in congratulating the Cox Peninsula Council for receiving a National Award for Excellence (for a small council with fewer than 15,000 ratepayers). “This is a major achievement for the Cox Peninsula Council”, said Alderman Moir. “There were over 280 entries from around Australia and CoxPeninsula is one of only six councils to receive a national award”. “Cox Peninsula Council received it’s award for the Wagait Beach Community Centre that provides primary health care, space for volunteer groups and even a cyclone shelter”, Alderman Moir said.
