LGANT provides a wide range of proactive management support services to its member Councils in the critical area of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations. Our specialist Local Government knowledge allows us to provide professional, timely and comprehensive support to Elected Members, Chief Executive Officers, Line Managers or HR/Payroll Officers. These services in human resource management and Industrial Relations are offered to assist Councils to maximise their return on their most important assets - their employees.

LGANT also provides further HR/IR advice to its members via links to related sites on CouncilNET. CouncilNET is password protected and is accessed from the LGANT website.

LGANT is also now offering assistance to Local Government Councils by supporting all Council staff and Elected Members in the changes to the New Local Government.

The Local Government Association of the Northern Territory(LGANT) has formed a partnership with the Western Australian Local Government Association's Workplace Solutions Service effective from the 1 January 2004, to provide human resource assistance to all Local Governments across the Northern Territory. The partnership has been developed to increase the availability of assistance with human resource issues such as advice on contracts of employment, industrial instruments and agreements, advocacy and representation.
